About

Decorated Air Force Veteran… Former NHGOP Vice Chair… Successful Businessman… Avid Community Volunteer… NH Human Rights Commissioner… Matt Mayberry is a very busy man.

Matt Mayberry grew up in Gorham, Maine.  In  1983 after graduating high school, he enlisted to serve our country in the Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, Matt was awarded his squadron’s Airman of the Year Award for his handling of an in-flight emergency and the contributions he made to the community of Charleston South Carolina.

Since completing his military service, Matt has dedicated his life to the service of others. Matt is an active volunteer in his hometown of Dover, NH and within the veteran community throughout New Hampshire.

Matt spearheaded a boots, sneakers and jeans drive for Liberty House, the homeless veterans shelter in Manchester. He worked with Community Toolbox and Habitat for Humanity to help veterans in need with their housing;  keeping proud veterans in their homes longer.

He organizes a state wide initiative called Prayers for Prevention.  Bringing over 100 churches and an estimated 2000 people together on one day, the first Sunday in May, to pray for the end of suicide in our country.  Started in 2016, Granite Staters pray in their churches, synagogues, homes, at the ballfield or anywhere they feel connected to God, on their terms and on their schedule but with one request, put an end to suicide.

Each year Matt also works with the Navy Chaplains Office and the Seacoast Chapter of the Nam Knights to make sure active duty military families at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard have the resources they need to get through the holidays and the winter months.

Matt served on the Board of Advisors of the NH Foster and Adoptive Parents Association and the Salvation Army and can be seen “ringing the bell” around NH during Christmas.

He also volunteers with Dover High School making sure homeless children not only have food to eat but can afford to go to their junior prom and have their caps, gowns and yearbooks when they graduate.  He delivers cases of chocolate to food kitchens, schools and children’s homes at each major holiday, and has been known to cook for the Dover Soup Kitchen.

Professionally, Matt has worked as a Realtor in the seacoast for the past 20 years, he was named their Rookie of the Year (a long time ago!) and also works at Carlisle Capital in Portsmouth. Until recently Matt produced large scale events throughout New England including some of the best and largest gun shows in Maine and New Hampshire supporting hundreds of small businesses and welcoming thousands of 2A supporters and advocates.  He also produced largescale yard sales and food truck festivals entertaining thousands throughout New Hampshire.

A life-long Republican, Matt was chair of the 2016 RNC initiative, the first of its kind, GOPVets-NH program.  Matt helped identify and mobilize over 10,000 NH veterans to vote.  He was vice chair of the NHGOP and during his 17 months of service, he attended 330 GOP events in NH.  He was an alternate delegate to the national RNC conventions of Senator John McCain and again in 2016 for President Donald Trump.

He is a 2 time winner of the Norris Cotton Republican of the Year Award in Strafford County.  He has been active in politics for over 40 years and served 3 terms on the Dover City Council and 2 years on the Dover School Board.

In 2018, Governor Chris Sununu appointed Matt to chair the board of commissioners for the NH Commission on Human Rights  annually adjudicating over 300 cases of discrimination here in NH.

Now, Matt hopes to continue his lifelong commitment to service by running for Congress in NH’s First Congressional District.
