“It is clear that we will not be able to fix the problems in the VA until those responsible for fixing it are required to use it.” – Matt Mayberry
(Dover, NH) – Today, Republican Congressional candidate Matt Mayberry (NH-1) unveiled a plan that would require members of Congress to receive their healthcare from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
“I got into this race because of the way our VA mistreats our brave veterans. After decades of mismanagement, it is clear that we will not be able to fix the problems in the VA until those in Congress responsible for fixing it are required to use it for their healthcare,” said Mayberry – who is a veteran of the US Air Force.
“My proposal is simple: members of the US House and the US Senate would be required to receive their health care from the Department of Veterans Affairs. They can see first-hand just how inexplicably broken our VA system is,” continued Mayberry. “If the level of healthcare the VA provides is good enough for our brave men and women who risked it all to defend this country, then certainly it is good enough for Congress.”
“Congressman Chris Pappas has absolutely failed in his responsibility to stand up for our veterans – as a member of House Oversight Committee this is unacceptable,” said Mayberry.
“I am the only person in this race who is committed to putting New Hampshire – and our veterans – first,” concluded Mayberry.
